Kingswood Union includes all or nearly all who have loved the school and worked hard for it, and especially those who stood by the school in its times of tribulation who “Ever with a folic welcome took The thunder and the sun shine, and apposed Free hearts, free foreheads.”
It is they who built up its traditions and established that envied standard loyalty & manliness, which has meant more for kingswood than the prizes of scholarship and sport. There are varying degrees of loyalty, and it would be ideal to pretend that the same high standard was attended by all members of the union. As everywhere and in everything, in Kingswood also some have cared much, some less, a few perhaps not at all. All boys have not the same environment or the same instinctive capacity for appreciating the public school spirit, or that “plain heroic magnitude of mind “Which enables them to rise above petty suspicions and imaginary grievances .But there is enough known of our boys to give us just cause for pride, and often one finds oneself flattering on the threshold of the tears of things.
